I made a steampunk Kathy Orta folio mini album using a Kathy Orta tutorial and a paper stack called Tattered Time By Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) I was inspired by an amazing youtube video by Bellajucielove
Here is the front, most of the embellishments are papercuts painted with gold gouache then inked with Tim Holtz ‘Black Soot’ this seems to give a nice antique bronze look. You can also add different coloured pigments to the gold gouache to create a variety of metal types. I added some red Inktense block for a warmer look and also green for an aged copper look. There are also some metal corners added and the enclosure is a metal clock face trinket.
Here are some of the interior pockets which hold some photos from a project I worked on last year called ‘Hortus’
Here is the interior flap which contains a written description of the project. All in all there are around 20 flaps and pockets in the folio. It was a real joy to make.
Here is the back, it’s quite plain as I loved the paper just as it was.
Why not have a go at making one too, it’s a great way to store and display your photos and looks stunning on a bookshelf. :)
