Art For Your Screens December Edition – Tree Of Life!!

Hello!!! I hope you are doing well on this glorious December day!!
I have been chilling and planning everything that I need to do next week which will include creating a new art tutorial aimed specifically at people who want to start arting for the first time! Stay tuned for more information!!

On Friday I went ice skating for the very first time! It was at Somerset House in London with Dj’s and even a steel band!!
However I don’t think my body will every recover from the experience lol, lets say that I managed to ‘Skate’ by holding onto the rail and pulling myself along for the whole 1 hrs session… ummm I think I need more practice.

Art For Your Screens is a new way of collecting, displaying and sharing artwork, this digital file can be used as a screensaver and wallpaper on your mobile phone.

The Tree of Life image shows how the needs of a tree are very similar to the needs of a person and show how self care is an important factor in our every day.
Let this art on your screen be a reminder to take care of yourself whenever you look at your phone!!

Lazy Sunday – Self Portrait

I’ve been enjoying a lazy Sunday lie in whilst deciding whether or not I should visit Greenwich Market in London, it’s cold out there!

I grew up in Greenwich and always enjoyed visiting the arts, crafts and antiques market on a Sunday, it became a ritual amongst my friends to meet there for Sunday lunch and take a walk in the park, happy days!

I still have some pieces of art and antiques that I collected at that time!

Last night I continued working on my self portrait, it’s almost finished now..

New Painting* – Whimsical sweet girl!

Hello everyone! I hope you are well!!

Today I finished a new sweet girl painting, she was inspired by my niece who has beautiful golden brown hair and green eyes.
I had lots of fun painting her, from creating a layered background, drawing the form of the girl as well as adding details.

All of which I will be able to show you in a free video tutorial for this painting which will go up on my YouTube channel here YouTube Joanne Seale

I cant wait to see the sweet girls that you create too, please join my new Facebook group to be notified as soon as the Video Tutorial is published.

This was my first ever VJ gig!!

This was my first ever VJ gig!! It was at the Astoria, Leicester Square in London for top reggae band Morgan Heritage!

You could say that I threw myself in at the deep end there! But I went on to mix live visuals for many other reggae bands after that. It was an amazing experience 😁

I decided to be come a VJ or Visual Jockey after seeing a concert performance given by the VJ’s as Yeast

They were mixing video clips in time to the music of Nitin Sawhney I had never seen anything like it in my life.
I chatted to the VJs after the show and they offered to train me to become a VJ myself!!

Thus began a 10 year journey into all things live video, I performed at Apple UK private events, went on tour with jazz stars, played to thousands in Trafalgar Square etc etc
It was a wonderful time in my life.

Artist Video – Omar Puente

I’ve been sharing bits of my work over on Instagram as part of ‘Social October’

Including this video, which was commissioned by the legendary jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine and features his band member, violinist Omar Puente.
I filmed, directed and edited the video whilst the band were performing in London.

It was such a memorable experience and honor to work with such talented musicians!

Hello – Some news

Hello, I’ve been sharing news of some great things that have been happening in my life over on Instagram and Facebook, so thought I’d also share those posts here :)

Firstly!! As you may know I am a bit of a secret gamer.. lol I started playing games in 2014 and was instantly hooked on The Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim, I then went on to play Mass Effect 1-3, Dragon age 1-3, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Witcher and so on.

These are all massive RPG games that you can easily sink 100 or more hours into without ever getting bored. So when one of my favourite games developers Bioware release a new IP called Anthem I jumped straight on it.

What I didn’t expect was them to feature me on International Women’s Day in their Twitter stream. It really meant a lot to me and I’m hoping that Anthem will go from strength to strength as it really is a fun game

Secondly – I was approached by a well known film company who wanted to use some of my work in a soon to be released feature film directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire) and written by Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Love Actually) whoooo!! its sooo exciting!!

This came completely out of the blue and I cant wait to see the finished film!!

And lastly! I managed to reach over 200 sales on my Etsy shop this March.. this has been a total ride and all I can say is “Follow your dreams” because “Everything is Possible” :)

Thats all for now, but I will be back soon with a fast forward video of myself painting ‘Girl Riding a Lion”
