The Northern Lights seen in the UK

Last night the Aurora Borealis gave a spectacular display over the UK due to solar winds from a coronal mass ejection reaching the UK.
Unfortunately I was tucked up in bed sound a sleep whilst it happened but here is a lovely picture from the BBC Website.
Nature is beautiful..

Nubian Treasure SVG Paper Cutting Template

The Nubian Treasure paper cutting template is now available in my store here

Nubian treasure set with title small

I was inspired to create this svg paper cutting template after creating the artwork for a Kudu antelope vector file.

I added a dimensional mask card with adinkra symbol motifs, which is ‘sculpted’ by gently folding along the perforated lines.

I then added a gift card pouch with uses a tribal motif as an enclosure to hold the pouch flap down.

It was great fun to make and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it :)

Saturday Morning 22.2.2014

It was a delightful morning here in London so I decided to go shopping and pick up a package from the post office.
I live in Bromley which is just at the edge of London and Kent, Bromley town centre has recently been revamped with a few new shops so I decided to check them out.
Here is my haul.

I am most excited about my A5 size Paperchase personal planner, it was much much cheaper than a Filofax and far far prettier :)

The other items include some ribbon and trim, a paint palette, a rectangular ceramic dish for my paintbrushes, some black acrylic paint for a Kathy Orta box project, some new glue, a colouring book to practice my painting ;) and some gorgeous patterned paper printed on kraft cardstock :)

leaf cuts with Dylusions

I made some leaf paper cutting templates and inked them with my new Dylusions sprays :)

leaf paper cuts with dylusions 1 small

I found some leaves that had prominent veins, and created cutting files from them. I then inked them with crushed grape and cut grass dylusions spray inks as well as Inktense paint blocks.. then used them as stencils as well as paper cuts.
I think they look amazing.. now to start gluing them to things :D
