Here are some of the cute paper dovecote houses that I designed in 2013, they were really fun to create, I used a 3d modelling programme then translated the design into a paper cutting template.. a learning curve lol.

Hello! I recently finished a new mini album using a pattern made by Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomenon, I love Kathy’s patterns and also love the patterned paper made by Die Cuts With A View (DCWV) so chose to use their ‘Once Upon A Time’ paper stack with this album, and it worked really well!
I transcribe all of Kathy’s patterns into cutting files for my Silhouette Cameo so they can take a while to make, this album contained approx 100 different pieces so I have been kept busy, but it was a very enjoyable time.
I use painted paper cuts to decorate by albums and hope you enjoy looking at it in the video below and photographs that follow.
If you decide to make this album too, please leave me a comment as I would love to see your creations!
Welcome to my tutorial where I show you how to make a stunning paper cut wreath using the Silhouette Cameo, if you don’t have a cameo then fear not, you can also cut it by hand or use any other cutting machine.
We will start by drawing the leaves and berries, photographing them using a mobile phone or tablet. We will then adjust the photo and trace them before cutting and assembling them out of paper.
Here are some photos of the finished wreath and creation process, the tutorial video can be found below these.
Here is the video tutorial
My November calendar art journal page is finished, I used paper cuts and hand painted elements on this page to give the feel of a whimsical winter landscape. It also features my little bird called Fredi who seems to have popped up in a lot of paintings recently. I painted some of the paper cuts with my new shimmery pearl FW acrylic ink.. I love it! Check out the step by step video below the photos for more info on how I created this page. In December I will be trying to paint a reindeer..
Hello, I hope you are all well and enjoying mid-summer :) It was a bit wet and cold in London this weekend plus I hurt my leg in a fall on the Strand in central London (what a sight, I was sprawled all over the pavement) so I stayed in and painted lots of colourful art journal pages (to be published here soon).
I also discovered free demos on my xbox! so I ahem ‘tested’ a few of them and will be getting the full versions of Diablo III and DMC soon :)
Here is the video tutorial for my paper cut wing template, I show you how to draw the wing feathers and prepare them for cutting on an electronic cutter, part 2 includes adding the feathers to the base in an ‘artistic interpretation’ of a real wing :) If you want to just go ahead and cut the wing template without drawing it first, my SVG files are here
I’m pleased to be back to full strength and managed to do my morning walk today YAY! London seems to be dotted with these cute colourful sheep at the moment.
I had a pretty restful weekend trying to catch up on sleep lost whilst my ear infection amplified every sound outside and inside, I’m glad I didn’t carry out my plan to move to an isolated peaceful valley in Wales.. :P
I managed to rescue the back of the garden, where the patio has been consumed by weeds, and worked on my sister’s portrait some more, I made some paper cuts from hand drawn flowers which I’ll be adding to the painting.
That’s it for now.
It was a glorious morning today, I routed my walk via St Paul’s Cathedral and managed to capture it bathed in the early morning spring sunshine. The warmer weather has given me a boost in energy and I spent the weekend rescuing my garden path which had been choked by weeds and grass. The crazy paving is now weed free and I can see the path again :/ I also took a walk along Charing Cross Road to the Foyles bookstore which had some cute 3d paper cut penguins in the window display.
Am looking forward to starting the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare, I want to use the spirograph stencil set and paper napkins in some mixed media paintings and the metallic pink elastic is for a homemade Midori travellers notebook (Fauxdori) that I’m thinking of attempting to make.. I also did lots of arting, working on Tam’s heart lesson and I started a new Nymph painting, look at the state of my desk.. That’s it for now!
