Catch-up May 2026

Helloooo everyone! Its time for a catchup as I return to my blog after many years away.

So what has been happening? Well the past year has been errmm interesting, I will explain more in future posts but right now I am welcoming in the spring and a new year of being immersed in creativity and nature.

I’ve been doing a lot of cycling recently, exploring new areas and getting to know my local area more. I particularly enjoy cycling along waterways and the coast, as well as woodlands and open countryside.

I made a vlog here showing some of my cycling trips etc

I started the year with a desire to cycle the entire coastline of Britain! Then quickly realised how remote some of those places could be so I’ve settled on the coastline of Kent and East Sussex as well as many inland water routes too.

I initially started my trip from Greenwich hoping to follow the Thames to the sea but I got as far as Woolwich..lol

Greenwich is such a beautiful place to visit, I spent much of my teenage years socialising here, it had a huge music scene and was very arty too.

So after my trip to the Thames I decided it was best to start my coastal cycle ride a bit further into Kent and as I had never been to Faversham before I got on a train and explored.

Faversham is lovely! A really interesting place, very well maintained and with friendly people, I can’t wait to visit again!

I then cycled onwards to Whitstable and lots of memories flooded back to when my sister lived there, we had such a fantastic time back then exploring the town, walks along the beach, visiting pubs and generally chilling. That was before it got super popular and now its a very buzzing and trendy seaside town, I do recommend visiting however it gets very busy at the weekends.

I’ve also been spending lots of time in local parks and open spaces, there are many in London and all are worth a visit, there also seems to be a new drive to improve green spaces, making them more appealing to nature and people too.

One of my favourite local spaces is Beckenham Place Park, it’s a fantastic new open space with loads to do and see, including the vintage market featured in my vlog. There is music every weekend during the summer, outdoor swimming, lots of cafes and loads of nature areas to explore.

I really enjoyed looking at this stall from Yolly, a local florist who has a shop in Forest Hill.

Finally I also finished my ‘Gardener’ painting which was made as part of a colour theory course by Willowing.

That’s all for now folks, have a great rest of the month and I will be back soon!!
